STOKLEY
VALENTINE’S DAY PRESS TOUR
When the Clock is Ticking, We Deliver
OUR TASK
CNBetter Media was tapped for emergency publicity support for Grammy-nominated singer Stokely, former lead vocalist of the legendary band Mint Condition, ahead of a Valentine’s Day concert appearance in Atlanta.
The referral came directly from Terry Lewis, one half of the iconic production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who was collaborating with Stokely on new music. With ticket sales underway and no PR support in place, the goal was to secure meaningful, high-impact media visibility immediately.
The challenge was extreme: CNBetter Media had less than 24 hours to build and execute a full press day in a major market—without the luxury of traditional pitching timelines.
OUR SOLUTION
CNBetter Media leveraged deep, long-standing media relationships and a high-trust reputation to bypass conventional pitching and move directly into execution.
Rapid-Response Press Strategy
- Designed a same-day press itinerary tailored to maximize reach across radio, digital, and public media.
- Activated direct phone calls and text outreach to decision-makers, allowing for immediate booking approvals.
- Positioned Stokely around timely Valentine’s Day angles, new music, and his legacy as a cultural icon.
Full Press Day Execution (Booked in less than 24 Hours)
CNBetter Media successfully secured and managed the following Atlanta press stops in a single day:
- Radio One Atlanta
- In-studio interviews across WAMJ and CLASSIX
- Live radio + digital video segments for on-air and social amplification
- Atlanta Black Star
- On-camera, in-studio interview and editorial feature
- WCLK (Clark Atlanta University)
- Taped interview for UPFRONT with Ray Cornelius
- Scheduled broadcast for the following week
- WABE / NPR Atlanta
- Live interview on A Closer Look with Rose Scott
- Conversation centered on Valentine’s Day music, legacy, and Stokely’s upcoming album
All interviews were strategically sequenced to allow seamless movement across the city while maintaining energy, focus, and narrative consistency.
OUR RESULTS
- Executed a full, multi-outlet press day in under 24 hours
- Secured live and taped interviews across top Atlanta radio, digital, and NPR platforms
- Delivered same-day visibility supporting Valentine’s Day concert promotion
- Reinforced Stokely’s positioning as a legacy artist with fresh momentum
- Earned direct praise from stakeholders for speed, efficiency, and execution
As expressed by partners involved, the response was consistent:
“How did you pull this together in less than 24 hours?”
This activation demonstrates CNBetter Media’s ability to move at the speed of opportunity—where trust, relationships, and execution matter more than long lead times.
By converting a last-minute request into a fully realized press day, CNBetter Media helped amplify Stokely’s Atlanta appearance, support ticket visibility, and reinforce his relevance during a key cultural moment.
This case study stands as proof that when time is limited and expectations are high, experience and relationships are the differentiators.
