OUR TASK
CNBetter Media, in partnership with the KTA Media Group, was engaged to support Dear Future Wifey host Laterras R. Whitfield during the 2023 Stellar Awards Weekend, following his invitation to host Dear Future Wifey Live as part of the Stellar Talks experience in Las Vegas.
Although the opportunity was negotiated independently prior to CNBetter Media’s involvement, the stakes were high. The activation included:
- A live taping tied to a major gospel awards weekend
- A six-figure sponsor investment ($100,000) requiring on-site fulfillment
- High visibility among faith, culture, and media leaders
OUR SOLUTION
CNBetter Media stepped in as the de facto production, talent, and execution team, filling significant gaps in real time to ensure the experience met professional standards and protected all parties involved.
Crisis Assessment & Immediate Stabilization
Upon arrival in Las Vegas, we identified major execution failures, including:
- Conducted an in-depth interview with the incoming CEO to understand her leadership philosophy, personal journey, and vision for the firm.
- Identified the key themes that needed to be communicated to establish trust, continuity, and confidence.
Storyboarding the Narrative Arc
Using insights from the interview, CNBetter Media storyboarded a three-part narrative structure for the announcement video:
- No run of show
- No confirmed talent or panelists
- No event host or MC
- No red carpet experience
- No press outreach or media coordination
- Misaligned vendors executing a vision not approved by the client
With the live event imminent, CNBetter Media moved immediately into action.
Live Event Architecture & Run of Show
- Created a full run of show from scratch to establish flow, timing, and transitions
- Structured the sponsor integration segment to properly fulfill the $100K sponsorship commitment
- Developed real-time talking points and stage flow for Laterras
Talent & Host Procurement (Last-Minute)
- Secured an experienced host/MC on-site by activating personal industry relationships
- Coordinated talent outreach, confirmations, and logistics for panel participants sourced through Laterras’ relationships
- Managed all talent communications, briefing, arrival details, and expectations—many of which had never been shared prior
This required earning the client’s trust in real time, demonstrating value, discretion, and competence under pressure.
Red Carpet & Experiential Support
- Identified and secured a local Las Vegas red carpet production team on short notice
- Coordinated setup, flow, and guest experience to elevate the event’s visual and experiential quality
Media & Press Salvage
- Coordinated directly with the Stellar Talks publicity team
- Obtained access to their media list and issued last-minute press invitations
- Ensured the event had media visibility despite no prior outreach by the organizing entity
On-Site Command & Execution
- Served as on-site producers, managing timing, vendor coordination, talent flow, and troubleshooting
- Stepped in to guide execution even when undisclosed personnel (including a previously unknown host) appeared onsite
OUR RESULTS
Despite significant pre-existing gaps, CNBetter Media successfully:
- Delivered a professionally executed live taping of Dear Future Wifey Live
- Fulfilled sponsor obligations tied to a $100,000 investment
- Secured talent participation under extreme time constraints
- Implemented a red carpet experience where none existed
- Coordinated media outreach to ensure coverage and visibility
- Preserved the client’s credibility during a high-profile awards weekend
The Stellar Talks team later acknowledged the value CNBetter Media brought to the experience and requested to work with our team on future activations, citing our foresight and execution standards.
