The Birth of a Nation
Will Packer Screening
When the Right Room Changes the Conversation
OUR TASK
As part of the broader Birth of a Nation film campaign, CNBetter Media was tasked with creating a high-impact, invitation-only influencer experience designed to generate authentic advocacy for the film among cultural tastemakers, entertainers, and community leaders.
The goal was not press coverage — the goal was trust, conversation, and organic influence.
To accomplish this, we identified the need for a private, culturally credible screening environment — one where influential voices could experience the film fully, discuss it openly, and naturally extend its reach within their personal and professional networks.
OUR SOLUTION
CNBetter Media conceived, curated, and executed an exclusive celebrity screening hosted by acclaimed producer Will Packer at his private Atlanta residence — leveraging both strategic insight and deep industry relationships to bring the vision to life.
Concept & Host Alignment
Recognizing Will Packer’s influence within Hollywood and Black cultural leadership, we approached him to host an intimate screening in his private home theater. His participation immediately elevated the activation’s credibility, exclusivity, and cultural relevance.
The setting was intentionally private, elegant, and controlled — ensuring guests could engage deeply with the film without distraction.
Guest Curation & Influencer Strategy
CNBetter Media curated a high-touch guest list of entertainment leaders, creatives, and cultural icons, including:
- Michael Ealy
- Big Boi (OutKast)
- Ludacris & Eudoxie
- LaToya Luckett
- Naturi Naughton
- Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker
- Ambassador Andrew Young
Each invitee was selected not for follower count alone, but for cultural influence, credibility, and community reach — ensuring that conversations sparked in the room would travel far beyond it.
End-to-End Experience Management
Our team managed all facets of the screening experience, including:
- Event concept development
- Guest list strategy and confirmations
- Talent coordination and arrivals
- On-site flow and experience management
- Film presentation and post-screening engagement
The experience was designed to feel organic, elevated, and personal — never transactional.
OUR RESULTS
- Successfully delivered a high-profile private screening attended by top-tier celebrities and cultural leaders
- Generated powerful organic word-of-mouth advocacy for The Birth of a Nation
- Positioned the film within trusted inner circles of Black Hollywood and civic leadership
- Sparked sustained social and offline conversations driven by authentic emotional response, not paid promotion
- Reinforced CNBetter Media’s reputation as a firm capable of leveraging elite relationships to create cultural moments
This activation demonstrated that the right room can be more powerful than the loudest campaign.
